Becoming a new parent is one of the most amazing and exhausting things to happen to a person. They are the best days of your life, but sprinkled in are some of the lowest and worst. And if you add finding out your partner is having an affair to that load, this new chapter in your life can feel unbearable. Unsurvivable. Like life is ending as you know it. I haven’t experienced these things, but I know women who have. They tell me that dealing with adultery is gut-wrenching, and they feel lost and alone. And coping with adultery as a new mom . . . it’s something that we wish on no new parent. All of it is tough, but we hope this episode can help.

In today’s episode, I got to chat with the ever-so-helpful Melissa Davis, founder of After the Affair. Melissa is a woman on a mission to ensure that a betrayed person will never attempt to navigate the affair recovery process alone. That load is just too heavy to bear by one’s self. She knows this because she has walked that path. This is why Melissa created After the Affair. No matter someone’s finances, availability, or circumstances, help is available. She and her team have helped countless people as they heal from their partners’ affairs. She shared her personal story, what dealing with adultery looks like as a new mom, and what new parents can do to heal.
