Close up of beautiful pregnant brunette lying in bed, holding baby shoes and using laptop for online shopping. Evening time.

When you first find out you’re expecting a new bundle of joy (YAAAYY!!), there are so many important tasks on your to-do list before baby’s arrival. One of your first jobs as a parent is selecting the baby registry that will organize all the items you need for those newborn days and beyond. Various quality baby registry sites can help you and your friends and family easily purchase that perfect glider chair, the softest swaddling blankets, and even all of the feeding supplies for the new mom and baby. We’ve taken out the guesswork and collected what you need to know about the best baby registry sites. Check them out below!

Best Baby Registry Sites

When selecting which baby registry is the best fit for you, there are some things you’ll want to consider. For instance, do you, your friends, and your family prefer in-person or online shopping? Some baby registries are online-only, better in person, or offer a combination of both.

What kind of details are most important to you? Some new moms-to-be carefully watch their budget and want the most bang for their buck. Others care more about high-end pieces that are aesthetically pleasing or made with organic materials.

These are some questions to consider when selecting a baby registry:

 • What stores are nearby for you, your friends, and your family?
 • Do you prefer online or in-person shopping or a combination of both?
 • What price range works for your budget? Also, what price range will make gift-giving accessible for others in your life?
 • What is most important to you: price, quick shipping to your door, high-quality products, or aesthetics?
 • Which kind of items do you want on your registry: Basic baby items, high ticket items, nursery décor, or a mixture?
 • Are you going to stick to items for the new baby, or do you also want to include items for your postpartum needs?

After reflecting on these questions, read on to see which of our best baby registries matches your family’s needs best. We’ve done all the work for you and highlighted the pros, cons, and special features of each of the best baby registries available.

Cons:

Beware of lesser-known brands, and check the reviews to ensure you request quality items. And there’s the obvious – for those who prefer in-person shopping, this isn’t an option.

Why we love it:

Amazon is an excellent choice for your baby registry and is one of the most popular baby registries. They have everything you could possibly need or want for your baby. And I mean everything!

Amazon’s baby registry boasts many perks any mom-to-be is sure to love. You get the same Prime shipping and a large selection of brands you already know and love, plus these other features:

Female friends open gift boxes with a pregnant woman at a baby shower. Party decorations in white and blue colors, baby boy

A rite of passage for all pregnant moms is having a baby shower! I will never forget the baby shower my mom threw for me when I was pregnant with my first son. It’s such a precious memory I will cherish forever. Do you have a hard time deciding between baby shower themes? Look no further because you’ll find some popular ideas right here.

There are many themes to choose from — from ones that reflect your baby’s nursery theme, to seasonal themes, to more common themes for a couple’s shower. Here are a few of our favorites for each category!

Nursery Baby Shower Themes

Many moms enjoy carrying the theme from their little one’s nursery (which may still be under construction) into their baby shower. It is a natural transition, and perhaps some of the décor from the shower will even make its way into the nursery!

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

This classic nursery rhyme makes for a precious nursery and baby shower theme. Your little star will be born soon, and a twinkle, twinkle, little star shower is the best way to celebrate their arrival! A tablescape with a moonlit sky-colored tablecloth, silver star confetti, and some tealight candles will make a beautiful setting for this shower theme.

Love You to the Moon and Back

“Moon and stars” is a cute nursery theme that translates well into a baby shower theme. This party banner is a great inspiration piece to center your décor around, and you can potentially add a balloon garland. There is also a board book with the same title from which you can draw inspiration. And have you considered asking each guest for books instead of cards?! Every time you read a book to your baby, you will be reminded of your family member’s or friend’s love for your child.

Pretty in Pink

Are you a girly girl expecting the next generation? If so, this adorable shower and nursery theme is perfect for you! The theme lends itself to decorations such as pink balloon garlands and a hot pink backdrop or step-and-repeat banner for a glamorous photo op for guests. If you can access a projector or TV, you can even show the movie “Pretty in Pink” (or play the soundtrack) in the background for entertainment. Take it one step further, and ask your guests to wear something pink to the celebration!

Woodland Baby

Woodland themed baby shower collage

Whether you are having a girl or a boy (or waiting to find out the gender), a woodland-themed baby shower is a precious choice! You can give it a rustic feel or play up the sweet woodland animals. We hosted a woodland theme baby shower, and it turned out adorable. The mom-to-be loved it! She could even use plenty of the décor items in her baby’s nursery.

Seasonal Baby Shower Themes

A fun way to choose your baby shower theme is to tie in the season your baby is due. No matter what season you have your baby, there is a cute theme for you to choose from!

Baby in Bloom

A spring floral theme is one of the most aesthetically pleasing shower themes! One fun activity at this shower is creating your own floral arrangements. These also make great baby shower party favors for guests. You can provide eclectic mason jars and a variety of flowers and greenery. Each guest can bring home something custom-made to remember your baby shower for days and weeks.

Little Snowflake Is on The Way

If you are having a winter babe, a snowflake theme is perfect. Snowflakes are unique in every way, just like your little one! You can create a hot chocolate bar or have individual hot chocolate kits as a party favor to send home with your guests so they can keep warm on those chilly winter nights.

Little Pumpkin

You can celebrate your sweet fall baby at a little pumpkin baby shower. Serving fall-themed desserts (like pumpkin and pecan pie) is so fun! You could even do a pie bar for dessert, with different pies for your guests! Painting a mini pumpkin is a cute idea for an activity and party favor for this theme. Read more fall baby shower theme ideas.

Beach Baby

Summertime babies are one of a kind! A beach or pool-themed shower is a great way to keep cool and celebrate the new bundle of joy headed your way. This is such a relaxed theme for a shower, especially if it is a pool party! For décor, you can set up a kiddie pool and float rubber ducks in it if you celebrate outdoors.

Co-Ed Baby Shower Themes

Some parents invite couples to their baby showers as a fun, modern twist on the traditional baby shower. Co-ed baby showers tend to be more laid back, with less conventional shower activities (like opening gifts and cute baby shower games). They focus more on socializing among your guests with good food and drinks!

Fiesta, Baby!

I may be partial because this was my baby shower theme. Fiesta was the theme, and it was a party! We had a nacho bar where all attendees could DIY their nacho creations. While there was no specific color theme, we decorated with all the colors to match our colorful invites with balloons and streamers around the venue. There are lots of cute options for tabletop décor for a fiesta shower!

We’re Having a Baby-Q!

This is a cute play on a summer barbecue theme and an excellent co-ed shower idea. This backyard party is simple to put together. The host can serve hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the fixings for a delicious feast! You can also serve individual cups of pasta, potato salad, and bags of chips. Use red-checkered tablecloths and other picnic décor to create a cute setting for your shower.

Something’s Brewing . . . A Baby!

A cute couple’s shower idea is to have a coffee and beer theme. Both of these drinks are brewed . . . just like the baby is brewing! Who doesn’t love coffee or beer? There’s something for everyone to enjoy. A coffee bar with a sampling of local craft beers is the perfect setup for this shower theme. Serving brunch foods to your guests will go great with the beverages you serve.

Hopefully, this gave you some new baby shower theme ideas for your upcoming shower! Whether you are hosting the baby shower or someone is hosting it for you, we hope you draw some inspiration. If you’ve had a baby shower thrown in your honor, what was the theme? Have you been to any showers with creative baby shower themes lately?

Young woman writing a valentine card

Baby showers are a monumental moment for moms-to-be. It celebrates the impending birth of their baby, and it signifies that their life will change for the better. It can also offer new parents comfort in knowing that they’re surrounded by a strong support system that will be there as they take on this new role.

While friends and family members’ presence at baby showers can help alleviate worries about parenthood, a card’s warm wishes can go a long way. Messages that are heartfelt, encouraging, and even comical can help moms feel the love they need for this new transition. If you’re stumped on what to write in a baby shower card, we’re here to help you craft a charming note that’ll shower the new momma with all the feels.

What to Write in a Baby Shower Card

To whom are you addressing the card?

It’s important to be considerate of the diverse dynamics in households today. We recommend addressing the card with the names of those listed in the invitation, whether it’s a shower just for soon-to-be-mom or a co-ed celebration. If you prefer to stay on the safe side, you can also address the baby shower card to the new baby.

What should you say?

Knowing what to write in a baby shower card can be daunting. But baby shower cards don’t have to be long and drawn out. Your message can be short and sweet and still show how much you care about mom and baby.

Which words to use instead of “baby”?

If you want to add some extra pizzazz and show you added an extra touch of personalization, swap out the tried-and-true “baby” for some of its adorable counterparts.

Some thought starters are a bundle of joy, bun in the oven, babe, darling, honey, sweetheart, sweetie, cutie pie, nugget, little one, little blessing, love bug, precious angel, prince/princess, miracle, a ray of sunshine, munchkin, or mini-me.

Which words to use in place of “motherhood”?

While there’s nothing wrong with using “motherhood,” you may want to switch things up and make your message sound even sweeter. A few go-to’s are a new adventure, a new journey, mommyhood, or parenthood.

Planning a baby shower takes a lot of thought and effort. Here are some great baby shower food ideas to get you started!]]>
Group of female friends touching tummy of a pregnant woman at a baby shower. Female friends sharing love and support to pregnant woman.

Hosting a baby shower is such an important job to support a mother-to-be. I will never forget my baby shower and all the work my mom put into it to host it for me. I am forever grateful!

Planning a baby shower is a lot of work, from the guest list to the décor, the baby shower games, and most importantly, the food. There is a lot of thought and effort that goes into a shower.

What to Consider When Planning the Baby Shower Food

When planning the menu, you want to consider the preferences of the mother-to-be and serve some of her favorite foods, along with considering the baby shower’s theme.

My shower theme was “Fiesta, Baby,” and we had a taco and nacho bar—some of my favorite things and on theme! You will also want to consider your guests’ dietary needs and ensure you have some gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan offerings mixed in. That way, there is a little something for everyone in the spread. Of course, make sure to have plenty of bottles of hand sanitizer available to your guests as they prepare to make their way through the food offering. This will help keep everyone healthy.

Baby Shower Food Ideas

Baby Shower Appetizers

Banquet table set to eat at a baby shower.

Finger foods are excellent to serve at baby showers, and anything “mini” is always a charming option for the food table. I love going to a baby shower where many different appetizers are served. Bonus points if they are on a toothpick or in a single-serving cup! Serving many appetizers is a great way to have lots of options for your guests that meet the needs of even the pickiest of attendees. Here are some delicious ideas for appetizers:

 • Pimento cheese crostini
 • Charcuterie board
 • Individual cups of cut veggies and dressing
 • Tea sandwiches
 • Fruit kebabs
 • Sandwich pinwheels
 • Meatballs
 • Pigs in a blanket
 • Stuffed mushrooms
 • Mini crab cakes
 • Shrimp cocktail
 • Spanakopita

Baby Shower Buffet

Tacos with grilled chicken, avocado, fresh salsa sauce and limes over rustic wooden background, top view. Healthy low carb and low fat lunch or food for company.

Buffets of entrée foods are a great, inclusive baby shower food idea for your guests. They can choose exactly how they want to customize their meal according to their preferences and dietary needs. I have shared some fun buffet ideas and examples of items to put on that buffet that will give your guests many options.

 • Taco/nacho bar (taco meat, chicken, refried beans, sour cream, salsa, taco shells, tortillas, corn chips)
 • Baked potato bar (cheese, chili, sour cream, chives, butter, bacon, ham, black olives, scallions, chicken)
 • BBQ and fixins (pulled chicken, pulled pork, brisket, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, potato salad, cornbread)
 • Bagels (various cream cheese flavors, lox, capers, pickled onions, dill)

Baby Shower Brunch

Closeup of a continental breakfast at a hotel, with bowls and plates filled with a selection of breakfast bakery items and fresh fruit on a white table with cutlery in the background.

A common time for baby showers is a brunch shower! I have often been to showers late Sunday morning, and I love a good brunch shower. Here are some yummy options for baby shower food ideas during brunch:

 • Mini quiches
 • Breakfast casserole(s), both with meat and vegetarian
 • Deviled eggs
 • Baked French toast
 • Chicken salad on Hawaiian rolls
 • Croissants
 • Scones
 • Muffins
 • Fruit salad

Baby Shower Desserts

Decorations on the table cupcakes, cakes and cookies.

The options for baby shower desserts are endless and the center of a shower’s celebration. Traditionally, you can serve a beautiful cake decorated like the shower’s theme. A trendy idea is to have a dessert bar with many different options for your guests. Here are some other more non-traditional dessert ideas:

 • Decorate your own cookie station
 • Cinnamon buns (cute for a “bun in the oven” theme)
 • Cake pops
 • Cookies
 • Chocolate covered pretzels
 • Petit fours
 • Cupcakes
 • Fun-sized candy bars
 • Hershey’s Kisses
 • Personalized M&M’s
 • Caramel popcorn
 • Chocolate covered strawberries
 • Rice Krispie Treats
 • Chex Muddy Buddies

Baby Shower Drinks

A mimosa bar complete with freshly sliced oranges, strawberries, limes, and raspberries.

The drinks you offer at a baby shower depend heavily on the theme! One cute theme that I have seen is “Something’s Brewing.” You would serve beer and coffee at that shower. At a brunch shower, you’ll probably have a mimosa bar with many different juice offerings. Depending on the time of day and audience, a signature cocktail inspired by the mother-to-be is also a cute idea! Of course, a nice offering to have is mini bottles of water. I find that at events where the mini bottles are served, it cuts down on the half-empty bottles of water being found everywhere when the event is over!

 • Mimosa bar (various fruit juices such as mango, pineapple, and orange)
 • Coffee or hot cocoa station
 • Iced tea
 • Hot tea
 • Infused water
 • Signature cocktail
 • Bottled water

I hope this inspires you as you plan for baby shower hosting responsibilities. You can mix and match from this list of food ideas and pull off a flawless shower! The guests and mother-to-be will love what you put together, no matter what you choose to do.

Selective focus shot of happy mom to be standing in front of a set up for her baby shower and holding her pregnant belly, contemplating and daydreaming about meeting her baby.

Most moms have been there: you get home from your baby shower to open all your gifts only to realize that you received 30 newborn onesies and not much else. While you may be delighted by the tiny clothes, once the baby comes, you quickly realize that you are in dire need of baby items.

You may spend hours creating a registry or opt to let people go their own route when choosing your gift. In the end, babies need more than cute outfits and singing toys. So we spoke with seasoned moms to see what they really wanted at their baby shower. We asked about the items they, unfortunately, didn’t get. If you are a soon-to-be-mom, you may want to consider sharing this article with friends and family before your baby shower. You don’t want to be scrambling on Amazon with a newborn trying to order a butt spatula (yes, this is a must) or infant Tylenol at 2 am.

Gifts You Really Wanted At Your Baby Shower

When asked what they really wanted as gifts at their baby shower, our network of moms said:

Butt spatula for diaper rash cream.

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

This is something you wouldn’t think of until your baby gets a little diaper rash and you are getting butt paste on every surface of your home because it will not come off your hands. Save yourself the trouble and buy a butt spatula. Not only does it save your hands (and furniture) from sticky butt paste, it helps spread the cream gently and evenly.

Comfy clothes for mom to wear when you get home.

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

We often forget about the mom when we buy a gift for a baby shower. But items for postpartum may actually add up quicker than baby items. Many moms mentioned wanting things for themselves, specifically comfy clothes like soft loungewear and breastfeeding-friendly tops and bras for breastfeeding mamas.

Fridababy items.

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

Fridababy has an array of must-have items for your newborn. Invest in them now and save yourself the trouble of wondering how to get the snot out of your baby’s nose during their first cold (snot sucker) or how to solve their constipation (the Windi). They even have a great kit that includes some of their great baby products!

Gift cards.

Target gift card for baby

Sometimes, you don’t really know what you need until you need it. This is especially true when it comes to newborns. You truly have no idea if your baby will need newborn clothes or not. Or if they will require items to cure cradle cap. Or if they will need multiple pacifier types before finding one they like. Because of this, many moms said what they really wanted was simply gift cards, specifically to Target.

Uber Eats/Door Dash cards.

Doordash gift card

On the topic of gift cards, giving gift cards for food delivery (or delivering food yourself) was also something our moms really wanted. The newborn phase is hazy and hard, and sometimes it’s 8 pm, and you realize you haven’t eaten all day. This is where these gift cards come in handy! Another hot ticket item was a dinner train, which is when friends and family take turns making and delivering the new parents dinner each night.

Diapers, diapers, and more diapers.

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

You will go through diapers like water, especially in those first few months when dealing with blowouts and constant full diapers. Some of our moms suggested having a diaper shower (where people only bring diapers) or a diaper raffle at your baby shower to encourage guests to bring diapers. Those who did get this at their shower said they could stock up on diapers for over a year!

Toddler items.

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

When planning your shower or creating your registry, you are in full-on baby mode. And for good reason. But some great advice from seasoned moms is also to consider what baby items you will need in the future. This includes a convertible car seat (your baby will grow out of the infant car seat sooner than you think). And toddler-sized bath towels (the baby towels are incredibly tiny). Don’t forget baby gates (essential as soon as they start crawling) and clothes in sizes six months and up.

Baby essentials.

Baby items collage

These items may not be fun to buy but are necessary for all new moms. This includes infant medications such as Tylenol, gripe water or gas drops, bottles and bottle nipples, vitamins, a humidifier, an electric nail file, thermometers, and burp cloths.

Cleaning services.

Portrait of a housekeeper holding cleaning products while working at home and looking at the camera smiling

This was another big one. Many moms said they wish they had started a fund for a deep clean while they were in the hospital or a monthly cleaning service during the newborn phase. Cleaning often goes out the window when they are little. So knowing you have a little help in this department can go a long way for new parents. Similarly, some moms also mentioned wanting loved ones to help pay for dog walking or boarding services and lawn services.

Night nurses, lactation consultants, babysitters.

Night nurse holding and consoling the baby

Sometimes, these are a must for new parents who need extra help. But many new parents can’t afford to pay for them. Instead of adding a bunch of unnecessary items to your registry, consider asking friends and family to start a fund for help. This can be for a night nurse or postpartum doula for the first month after the baby is born or for a monthly babysitter once you are ready for a date night.

Breastfeeding supplies.

Nursing items

Another thing that adds up quickly is items for breastfeeding. You need nipple cream, a breast pump, nursing bras and tops, a breastfeeding pillow, and more. And many moms said that even if they added these items to their registry, they were pretty much always left behind. As one mom put it, “Just grow up and buy my nipple cream!”

Big-ticket items.

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

Many moms wished they had gotten some of the more expensive items on their list rather than having loved ones buy a bunch of smaller items. The most popular items our moms wished for were:

NO SNAPS!

Things You Really Wanted As Gifts From Your Baby Shower

The caps are vital here. There is nothing worse than trying to snap up a pair of footie pajamas at 3 am. And with spit-ups, blowouts, and drool, you will need more pajamas than you probably think. All of our moms said all they wanted in this department were footed two-way zipper sleepers.

Overall, though, an overwhelming amount of moms simply wanted their friends and family to stick to the registry they created. We know how exciting it can be to buy baby clothes and stuffed animals, but as new moms (and even second and third-time moms), we really need the items we ask for. If you are ever in doubt about what to buy for a shower, ask them to send you their registry. And as a new mom, make sure your registry is filled with all of the items above and any things you think you will need, even if it’s as boring as a butt spatula.

13 Ways to Celebrate a New Mom Other Than a Baby Shower https://www.baby-chick.com/ways-to-celebrate-a-new-mom-other-than-a-baby-shower/ Tue, 27 Jul 2021 10:00:01 +0000 https://www.baby-chick.com/?p=48382 Guests entering the party. Their pregnant girlfriend opening the doors and welcoming them.

There is more than one way to celebrate a new mom and her baby. Check out these 13 ideas (that AREN'T baby showers) to celebrate her!]]>
Guests entering the party. Their pregnant girlfriend opening the doors and welcoming them.

Celebrating a new mom is a great excuse to throw a baby shower, but that is not the only way to celebrate a new mom. Depending on individual circumstances and the wishes of the mom-to-be, there are plenty of other ways to mark the occasion. You can branch off the traditional baby showers and create your own experience with something memorable that reflects the mom-to-be.

13 Ways to Celebrate a New Mom

1. A Baby Sprinkle

Consider a baby sprinkle if you do not want a full-blown baby shower! This type of celebration is like a mini baby shower. It is more low-key and can be a great idea for moms who already have kids. The food and games are easy and fun. It can also have a reduced guest list to take some of the pressure off.

2. A Sip-and-See

This type of celebration is for after the baby is born. A sip-and-see is more focused on seeing the baby, and the presents are primarily for the baby instead of the mother. This one could be tricky because the timing needs to be right. If the new mom is comfortable, this can be planned for after the birth.

3. A Girls’ Night

Since it will be hard to get away after the baby is born, you could consider a girls’ night with your friends before the baby arrives. This night does not have to be going out. You could frame it as a sleepover instead. Get some of your favorite movies and snacks and hang out with your girlfriends before this get-together becomes too hard to coordinate.

4. A Blessingway

A blessingway is a tradition inspired by Navajo ceremonies. It celebrates a woman’s passage into motherhood. Like traditional baby showers, blessingways are just for women. You can include whatever you like. This celebration could mean pampering, sharing birth stories, prayers, gifts, and any other way you would like to celebrate.

5. A Co-Ed Shower

If you want to go a more nontraditional route but still have it similar to a baby shower, consider inviting the guys. A co-ed shower includes the important men in the mother-to-be’s life and the women. You may need to tweak the games and theme, but this can be fun for everyone to celebrate the new baby.

6. Postpartum Party

A postpartum party is similar to a sip-and-see but focused on the mom instead of the new baby. Once the new mom has had some time to recover, you can plan a get-together with her friends or an activity she misses. This party will help her have a change of scenery and get a break to feel like herself again after the baby comes.

7. Sleep-a-thon

It is no secret that it will be challenging to get enough sleep after the baby is here, and the pregnant mom may have difficulty getting rest now. A sleep-a-thon is a great way to help her rest and relax. This event could be a day or an entire weekend, focusing on rest and relaxation.

8. A Babymoon

Another great way to celebrate a mom-to-be is by taking her on a babymoon. This type of getaway is a trip where the parents-to-be can take some time away to enjoy themselves before the baby arrives. This trip could be a weekend in a hotel or something further away. It is all up to what the parents want to do.

9. A Meal Train

Instead of a sip-and-see, you could arrange for a meal train event. It will be hard to cook with a new baby, so having family and friends bring you meals can help you get through those first few weeks. Bonus points for guests who bring freezer meals.

10. Decorate the Nursery Party

There are a lot of things that you need to do to get ready for a new baby. You could invite guests over for some food and painting. This party could also be geared toward stocking the nursery, such as diapers, bedding, and decorations.

11. A Virtual Shower

Instead of having a large group for a shower, you could consider a virtual baby shower. This type of get-together would allow you to still visit with friends and family without decorating or going anywhere.

12. Baby Barbecue

If the mama-to-be is not into the traditional baby shower, take things outside with a Baby Barbecue. This method is a great way to have a co-ed shower and take some of the focus off of the mom-to-be. They are also affordable since you will be grilling your own food and will not need to pay for a venue. Just set things up in the backyard.

13. A Day of Pampering

It will be a long time before mama can return to the spa, so plan a spa day for her before the baby’s arrival. It will help the new mom relax and focus on herself. She can get a massage, a haircut, or a mani/pedi.

There are plenty of ways to celebrate a new mom other than a baby shower. The important thing is to check with her about what she wants to do and how she wants to celebrate. It is all about her and the new baby.

Three women smiling while celebrating a friend's pregnancy at her baby shower.

If you’re anything like me, you know the right music can make or break the mood of an event. One of my favorite things to do is create playlists and be the DJ at any time needed. A baby shower is such a special time to celebrate both the mother and soon-to-be newborn! There are so many sweet tunes to choose from, but I have selected twenty-five of my favorites for the ultimate baby shower playlist.

Best Baby Shower Playlist Songs

Daughters – John Mayer

This is probably the first song that comes to my mind regarding babies, especially little girls! John Mayer is one of my favorite musicians, and I think this is such a precious tribute to daughters everywhere.

Boy – Lee Brice

There are quite a few country songs about having children. I only picked my absolute favorites for this list, but it was definitely hard. “Boy” is a father addressing his new son about all the lessons he learned as a boy himself.

It Won’t Be Like This For Long – Darius Rucker

If you’ve been through the newborn stage, you can fully relate to this song! Darius Rucker sings about not letting moments pass you by even when they seem difficult. At the end of my pregnancy, I also played this song when I was past my due date and desperately ready to give birth. It helped remind me to cherish every last moment since life was about to change forever!

You Are The Best Thing – Ray LaMontagne

This song was my first dance song with my husband at our wedding. I have the lyrics on the wall in our bathroom! It’s such a beautiful song. I think it would be perfect for celebrating the joyous occasion of bringing a baby into the world!

All American Girl – Carrie Underwood

I love this precious song about a father who finds out he is having a girl! It talks about how he grows to love being a girl dad and how special it is.

Better Together – Jack Johnson

I adore this song from Jack Johnson about another person bringing out the best in you! A baby certainly does bring out great things in you as you become a mother.

Anything Like Me – Brad Paisley

Brad Paisley’s song is about a father recounting his own years growing up and readying himself for what may come in the future. There is a saying: “You pay for your raising,” that I think this song perfectly encompasses!

Your Song – Elton John

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I have the lyrics to this song in my son’s nursery. Even before I was ever pregnant, I knew this song would somehow be a part of my future child’s room! It perfectly describes how beautiful life becomes when your baby joins your family.

I Saw God Today – George Straight

This song about the miracle of birth is a tear-jerker. I always get a little misty-eyed listening to George Strait give an account of a father who just had his first child! A baby truly is a miracle, and this sweet song paints a beautiful picture of it.

ily (I love you baby) – by Surf Mesa ft. Emilee

I discovered this newer song, and I think it’s so cute. It makes me think of the newborn stage when they sleep all the time and are just so peaceful!

You’re Gonna Miss This – Trace Adkins

I commend you if you can get through this song without shedding a tear. Every time motherhood is hard, I hear the lyrics from this song in my head and try to remember at some point, I will miss every single stage. The days are long, but the years are short, which is perfectly demonstrated throughout this song!

American Girl – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

A classic rock tune about an all-American girl! I love the chorus and beat. It’s definitely one to sing along to!

My Wish – Rascal Flatts

This song was on my senior ad in the yearbook in high school. I absolutely think these wishes are what all parents have for their children!

You & Me – Dave Matthews Band

I love this song about all of the things you can do together! It’s great to imagine that with your future baby.

Make You Feel My Love – Adele

There are many versions of this same song, but I love Adele’s because she is a mother herself. It’s just a beautiful tune about how much you would go through to show those you love that you care about them.

Never Grow Up – Taylor Swift

Don’t we all wish they would always stay little? I love this Taylor Swift song about trying to hold on to childhood and not rush growing up!

Sweet Pea – Amos Lee

A cute tune about that special little person in your life! Such a sweet song.

Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison

This was the song I danced to with my father at my wedding! I love this upbeat tune.

Little Bitty Pretty One – Thurston Harris, The Sharps

I love classic songs like this one! This whole era in music was so great. I think it is perfect for a baby shower!

My Little Girl – Tim McGraw

This is a sweet song about a father’s love for his baby girl. I love that Tim McGraw is a girl dad in real life! He’s totally qualified to sing about this.

Baby Love – The Supremes

Love, at first sight, is sure to happen the moment you meet your new baby! This happy tune is a great addition to your baby shower playlist.

Sweet Child O’ Mine – Guns N’ Roses

This is more of a play on words since it says child in the lyrics, but it’s always a crowd-pleaser! You have to have some upbeat songs to balance out the emotional ones. You don’t want to cry the entire time!

Love Without End, Amen – George Strait

George Strait is on here twice, but he has so many that would be great for a baby shower playlist! I actually had to narrow it down and exclude a few I like. I love that he talks about loving your baby forever, whether they are a baby or an adult!

Father and Daughter – Paul Simon

A sweet song about a father’s love for his daughter! Such a great classic song.

My Girl – The Temptations

I love this darling song! Such an addictive chorus that will really get the party going.

Which songs would you add to this list for your ultimate baby shower playlist?
